Discipleship is not a program you attend - it is a life you share. The command to make disciples was given to every man who follows Jesus, not only to pastors and platform leaders. If your growth stops with you, it is incomplete.

Why Discipleship Is Every Man's Assignment

Many men assume someone else will disciple the next generation - the pastor, the elder, the paid professional. But Paul's instruction to Timothy was to entrust what he had learned to reliable men who would teach others. That chain is meant to run through ordinary, faithful men. You do not need a title to make a disciple; you need a life worth imitating and a willingness to share it.

Scripture

"And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others."

2 Timothy 2:2

What Discipleship Actually Is

Discipleship is helping another man follow Jesus by following Jesus yourself, up close. It is not lecturing. It is not a curriculum alone. It is opening your life - your prayers, your struggles, your marriage, your work, your repentance - and inviting a man to walk with you as you both walk with Christ.

Kingdom Framework

Next Man Up

The MISSION Method ends with Next Man Up: who is the next man you are helping become a Man on Mission? Discipleship is that question answered in action. You do not wait until you are perfect; you share what God is teaching you today with a man who is a step behind you.

A Simple Way to Begin

  1. 1Identify one man God has placed near you
  2. 2Invite him to meet weekly - Scripture, prayer, and life
  3. 3Share what God is teaching you honestly
  4. 4Ask him hard questions and let him ask you
  5. 5Send him to do the same with another man

What to Do Together

  • Read a Gospel or a practical book of the Bible together
  • Pray for each other by name
  • Share a current struggle and a current win
  • Set one action step and follow up next week
  • Discuss the MISSION Method principles as you go

Develop, Do Not Control

The goal of discipleship is not to produce a man who depends on you - it is to produce a man who depends on Christ and can disciple someone else. Release men early. Give them responsibility before they feel ready. Multiplication dies the moment a leader hoards influence instead of giving it away.

Kingdom Framework

Develop Leaders, Not Followers

A consumer makes followers; a Kingdom man makes leaders. In Kingdom Men on Mission, Mission Builders exist to develop Mission Leaders who develop other men. The aim is not a bigger audience for you - it is more men on mission because of you.

Common Questions

What if I do not feel qualified to disciple someone?+

You disciple from what God is teaching you now, not from perfection. If you are a step ahead of another man in an area, you can help him. Faithfulness, not expertise, is the requirement. Start where you are.

How is discipling different from just being friends?+

Friendship is the soil; discipleship is intentional growth toward Christ. Discipleship adds purpose - Scripture, prayer, accountability, and the aim of seeing the other man mature and multiply. It is friendship with a mission.

Become the Man God Called You to Be.

Rise up. Get equipped. Get on mission. Bring another man with you.
